Worried again

Mina Brigitta's fevers have returned. Last night she spiked to 38.3, which is right at the borderline of what they officially call a fever. As a result, they scheduled a CT scan today to check for absesses or any sign of a fungal infection. They found that her lungs had some "infiltration" and some other problems, but not enough to affect her breathing too much at this point. The CT scan pretty much confirmed what the chest X-rays have been showing, which is good. The doctors are also taking comfort in how well she's doing otherwise -- she was pretty energetic and playful, despite flirting with a fever all day today.

Then tonight she spiked all the way to 39, which is 102.2. But she was feeling quite chipper again after some Tylenol. They restarted one of the antibioitics that they'd stopped, and it's again taken them awhile to find a therapeutic dose, so hopefully the fevers will subside once that one kicks in. It wouldn't be a very good sign if the fevers continued, since she's now on three major antibiotics plus an antifungal. We'll see what happens over the next few days.

    Hey beautiful,

Was so glad the fevers were gone. Now this isn't the best news but I would bet they are gone today. Are you eating yet??? We sure love you and are thinking about you all the time. Good news on the CT front we will pray that your lungs continue to clear. Boy that tylenol is amazing stuff isn't it. I picked you up an outfit yesterday and will get that shipped soon. Can we UPS to the hospital? Thought that might be easier. Well kiss Mom, Dad and that smiling baby brother of yours.

Love Uncle Bill and Aunt Kristi

    Arne and Keri,

I'm so glad that MB's grandparents have been there. I'm sure their presence is a gift to all four of you.

Let me know what you learn about matches for BMT for MB. Given your joint Scandinavian backgrounds I could ask my sister in Oslo to recruit volunteers if needed - she would do it. Of course, I'm sure your family and friends would send out the word in the Puget Sound region also.

Are you guys getting any sleep? I hope so - this is a long distance run you are in and you need some resources.

I have the beautiful Christmas card photo of MB and Isaac posted in our kitchen and send positive vibes and prayers your way every day.

I'll see you in a few weeks - unless MB goes home early.

    Love you, Liz

    Hey my angelic angel,
I feel so bad for you those fevers sound horrible. Along with you i am sick but mine is only a head cold. I promise you that by the middle or end of this summer you will be on the beach playing in the sand with all the little boy toddlers saying who's that cutie. I miss seeing you smile and giggle. I hopefully will be able to see you sometime this summer. Well for me the sports are done for right now that is but come March or so i will start track. and just for you i will letter in shotput or discus. At the current minute grades are good. Mina you have to promise me that you wont let that fever happen again. I want this all to go away so you can come see me and we can go to Silverwood and have you ride all the fantastic rides. I love you so much words can not compare. I just did a project in science class and i believe i got an A on it. on this project i had to build a bridge out of spaghetti and get a ratio of 50 to 1 well i got a lucky ratio of 71 to 1. So back to you now, How tall are you? are you eating a bunch of yummy foods? Do you still get to play with you little brother? Who all has come and seen you while you are in the hospital? well i better go and you better get well. I MISS YOU SO MUCH!!

    Love always,
    Cousin Kendra
